Being a Mom is hard work!
I’m going to be real with you, because we’re friends. (Or we’re going to be, you just don’t know it yet! LOL) Being a Mom is hard. Trying to be a Mom AND care about yourself. Super duper hard. I’ve been struggling, and I’m trying to find solutions to this issue. I’m looking for solutions to balance being a Mom and going after your own goals and dreams.
It’s been two years, and I have been moving at a snail’s pace with this blog. But I’m not giving up, because I know that it is something important. No only to me, but other Moms who are trying not to lose themselves while raising their kids. There is a balance. You don’t have to give up EVERYTHING to be a parent. You can have something for yourself.
Take Care of Yourself, Mom!
You know the saying on airplanes that you have to put the mask on yourself before assisting others around you? It’s true. I prefer the analogy of a cup. Fill your cup first. If you’re empty, you have nothing else to give your kids, your significant other, etc. So here’s your task: Find your oasis.
What the heck does that mean? The definition of oasis is “a fertile spot in a desert where water is found.”
When applied to motherhood, finding your oasis means finding that little peace in the middle of chaos. It’s a little joy. It’s that thing that you love. Whether it’s getting a manicure or taking a few minutes to read a book. Maybe it’s giving yourself permission to take a nap. (Any of these sound awesome. All three would be heaven!) Find that thing that gives you a lift, and do it regularly!
Don’t forget to fill your cup, Mom!
In the all the hustle and bustle, don’t forget to fill your cup, Mom. Not only do you deserve it, but you’ll be able to tackle life with more joy and peace.
